Crochet in the Round
Learn to make a basic beanie while crocheting in the round. Stitches used: chain, double crochet, double crochet increases. Also some tips for beginning Amigurumi crochet, using single crochet stitches.

Crochet Motifs
Make a Spokes Cuff Bracelet and learn to read the hieroglyphics of crochet lace charts on this quick stashbuster project. Have another crochet chart in mind? Help will be available to learn charting for other patterns, too.
Materials& details:
Yarn: 30 yds fingering/sock weight yarn
Hook: size C/2.5mm
Gauge: 15 sts/7 rows in double crochet=2″, gauge needn’t be exact, cuff length can easily be modified.
Notions: two buttons (use up those spare shirt buttons!), tapestry needle, sewing needle and thread
Finished size: 2.75″ wide by 7″ long, length can be adjusted to fit your wrist measurement

SPINNING
Handspun self-striping yarns
Learn how to spin and ply your own self-striping sock yarns (or any thickness!) using the Navajo Plying method. Spinning a striping single is easy enough, but learn how to make a sturdy, balanced yarn that stripes beautifully! We will discuss how to choose space dyed rovings , how to split rovings to control stripe repeats, how to get sharp versus blended transitions, and how to gauge the final thickness of a three-ply yarn.
